We, Environment Texas, on behalf of our members in Harris County and Dr. Julie P. Katkin, Dr. Harold J. Farber, Dr. Ernestina Melicoff and Dr. Erin J. McDade, urge the TCEQ to deny the Title V permit and to delay the issuance of any additional permits to Pasadena Refinery System, Inc. until the facility is able to come into compliance with existing permits and reduce dangerous emission events that threaten public health and the environment.

Rivers and streams are the arteries and veins of our land and communities, few things have impacted our rivers more than dams. The hydropower industry is right now making an unprecedented assault on our rivers and wildlife. If they’re successful, they’ll take the nation back more than half a century to the regrettable time when dams could destroy our rivers without consequence.

CPS Energy is hiring a new CEO – they should pick a leader to help them go solar. Under the leadership of the past CEO, Doyle Beneby, San Antonio’s municipally owned utility has made great strides to expand the use of renewable energy. But his departure leaves CPS’ solar future unclear. Now momentum is growing for a new "green" hire.
