AUSTIN – Environment Texas, which is a citizen-based environmental advocacy project of Environment America, announced today its endorsement of Joseph Kopser for Congress (TX21).

Joseph Kopser’s active and expressed support of Environment Texas’ work and values–fighting for open spaces, clean air, clean water and clean energy–led to today’s endorsement.

“Environment Texas’ members and supporters believe that defending our environment requires independent research, tough-minded advocacy, and spirited grassroots action. As a Texan, as an Army officer, as a clean energy leader, and now as candidate for Congress, Mr. Kopser continues to put his courage and intelligence into action,” said Luke Metzger, Executive Director of Environment Texas.  

“I met Joseph in 2011, when both of us were named “Next Generation Fellows” by UT’s Strauss Center for International Law and Security. I remember then how passionately he spoke of his work to reduce the Army’s dependence on fossil fuels. Since then, I’ve worked with him on campaigns to boost transportation alternatives and to cut global warming pollution from oil and gas. He’s the real deal and will make central Texas proud.”
