Senator Ellis, other legislators and public officials want to Clean-up Texas’ Air

Today, Texas Senator Rodney Ellis filed Senate Bill 124, the Texas Vehicle Emissions bill, which will reduce air pollution from cars and trucks, save consumers money at the gas pump, boost our economy and clean up our state’s air and making it much healthier to breath.  Representative Mark Strama filed a companion bill in the House, House Bill 344.  Supporters of the proposal include Mayors Bill White of Houston, Laura Miller of Dallas and Mike Moncrief of Ft. Worth.

Texas Voters Approve More Than Half-Billion Dollars for Parks, Recreation and Green Space

In an unprecedented election where parks became a major issue at the top of the ballot for the Governor’s race, at the bottom of the ballot, a number of quieter ballot propositions racked up major gains for Texas parks, recreation and green space. In bond elections in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Irving, Williamson County, Rosenberg, Bee Caves and West University Place, voters approved more than $623 million in bonds to acquire new park land and natural areas and to improve recreation facilities.
